Parish InformationEucharistic Ministers Appointed by the Parish Priest to assist at Mass on a rota basis. They also take communion to the sick and housebound. Lay Readers Assist at all Masses with a rota system for all the principle Masses. Liturgy Group Meets on an ad-hoc basis to plan special Eucharistic and Non-Eucharistic Liturgy. Parish Mission Group A group of parishioners who assist the Priest in the community and spiritual life of the Parish. Prayer Group Meets every Wednesday at 8pm in the sacristy. Encourages and develops personal prayer. Arranges parish retreats and other prayer opportunities. Catechetics Catechists prepare young people for reception of the sacraments, or in RCIA to welcome people into full communion with the Catholic Church. In particular we need to work with parents before and after babies are baptised. Catholic Children’s Society Assists disadvantaged children and families in our diocese. Collection boxes available. Youth Special responsibility within the Mission Group to develop youth activities. Bereavement Group A support group is available to all suffering bereavement. Registrar In addition to the Parish Priest being an appointed Registrar, the Parish has an Assistant Registrar - Angela Donovan (01928 735360) Christian Unity Members of the Ecumenical group attend meetings of the Frodsham Churches Together and explore things that we can do together for the work of the Church in the Parish.The contact for Christians Together in Crowton, Kingsley and Norley is Geraldine Booth (01928 788908). Union of Catholic Mothers The UCM supports all aspects of the life of the parish and to grow in our own faith and the love of God. We meet on the third Monday of each month in the sacristy at 7.45pm. Society of St Vincent de Paul The SVP in a worldwide charity which assists the poor, needy, sick, homeless and housebound. Locally we play our part in all these aims. Meetings are held on Tuesdays after the 7.15pm Mass. CAFOD CAFOD believes that the world’s resources are a gift to be shared by all. Their official fast days of Lent and Harvest, as well as weekly offerings, enable us to participate in this sharing. Society for the Protection of the Unborn Child (SPUC) Raises awareness of the plight of the unborn child. A small group distributes the "Pro Life Times" after Masses every 7-8 weeks as well as organising occasional fund raising. Association for the Propagation of the Faith Supports missions though annual collection. Mission boxes and returns organised by Betty who will willingly provide boxes on request. Sikri Project Sikri is a village in Western Kenya. It is the location of an agricultural training centre for the blind and deaf. Our aim is to provide financial assistance. Offertory Counters Counters meet after the 9.30am Mass on Mondays to count and record the Offertory collection and other cash receipts. There is a monthly rota. Flowers Each week a team of two organises the flowers on a rota basis for church throughout the year. At present there are 4 teams. Church Cleaning Each week a team of 4 people clean the Church on a rota basis. At present there are 3 teams. Frail or Disabled Pensioners There is a wheelchair available to assist disabled parishioners. Anyone wishing to come to Mass but currently unable to do so because of frailty of disability should contact Christine Thomas (01928 732445). Planned Giving and Giftaid Special envelopes are available to parishioners who wish to make a regular weekly contribution by this method. 200 Club A lottery operates to raise funds. The annual subscription is £12, which can be paid annually or monthly. The prizes are listed in the porch.
